What Are The Different Types of Polyphasic Sleep Cycles
Hi, today we're going to be looking at what are the different types of polyphasic sleep cycles and what are the benefits of each one.
Wouldn't it be cool to sleep less than eight hours a day to free up more time? Without feeling or looking tired in the process. Can you imagine what you could do with all that extra time?
We're going to learn how to get the minimum amount of sleep possible and still live a successful and healthy life.
Mono Phasing Sleep Cycle
Now if you are only sleeping eight hours a night in one setting this is what's known as a mono phasing sleep cycle.
Biphasic Sleep Cycle
You are only going through one sleep session for 24 hours. If you switch this up a little bit and you do something called a biphasic sleep cycle you are sleeping twice per 24 hours.
Many people doing their own routines are sleeping for five hours a night and then around halfway through the day they take a 90-minute power nap.
The Dymaxion Sleep Cycle
Huberman sleep cycle
This sleep cycle consists of a three and a half hours sleeping session during the night and three 20-minute power naps throughout the day, which totals up to around four and a half hours which saves you three and a half hours of sleep.
And the last is the huberman sleep cycle, which is six 20-minute naps so obviously, it's going to be hard to try to schedule these especially if you are working in a job that requires you to work eight hours seven hours nine hours a day consistently.
Studies that show the Dymaxion and Huberman sleep cycles lead to individuals who learn better, their performance actually improves and studies say that the users feel euphoria and coincidentally it has been found that some people who sleep too much start to suffer depression or maybe it's the other way around those who suffer depression start to sleep more. You will also find your dream more which may allow you to have lucid dreams more often.
Polyphasic Sleep Cycles
Now polyphasic sleep cycles are common in many animals and have been found throughout history used by people such as Leonardo da Vinci and Nikola Tesla and even Napoleon.
Tests Show These Cycles Do Work
The US military has done some tests and they found that it is completely healthy to take 45-minute naps throughout the day at any time that you want as long as it totals eight hours.
NASA also did some tests they did the same thing, except with two-and-a-half hour naps their studies showed that the alertness of the individual increased as well as the working memory.
Anyways before you make any major changes to your sleep cycle make sure to consult with your doctor or physician because this can have some serious life-altering changes.
